SCHQ: What's been the go over winter? Have you been playing, training etc?
JB: I've spent the winter playing a stint with Leicestershire in English County cricket, before going to Champions League in India (with the Heat).
SCHQ: How have you liked the new Ryobi Cup format?
JB: I thought the new Ryobi Cup format was really good, it mimics a World Cup type format so it was a good experience for domestic players.
SCHQ: Last year you picked up the Bradman Young Cricketer of the Year. Did you expect to win such an accolade?
JB: No, I didn't expect to win the award but I was thrilled to receive such a prestigious accolade. The fact that it's voted on by your fellow domestic players makes it very special.
SCHQ: The Heat had a tough tournament in the CLT20. Can we expect some more positive results in the BBL? Is back to back on the cards?
JB: Yes I think the Brisbane Heat squad is very strong and I'm extremely confident we will go well in BBL3. Back to back is certainly on the cards!
SCHQ: There's no doubt that last season was your best personally. Can you describe what impact Boof Lehmann had on your game?
JB: Boof taught me a lot about how to play the game and how to win from different situations and how to go about it. He's a great coach and I'm sure Australian cricket is better for it with him in charge.
SCHQ: And finally, who can you see as being the big improvers for this summer, and potential fantasy sleepers?
JB: Watch for Cameron Gannon and Nick Buchanan as two players that could go very well in this year’s Big Bash.
SCHQ: Thanks Joe, we appreciate your time.
